Paramount Skydance Will Cut Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – News

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 positions in the United States within a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

More overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce complete information during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested the firm was looking to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the company had nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond regarding the report.
